ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FALL 2O11 RTW.
This is how the head designer Sarah Burton sees the fall of Alexander McQueen 2011. Black and white collections always catch my eye and I gotta say this is one of my favorites for a very long time. Especially the fierce contrasts, leather versus chiffon are next to perfection.
The crackling neon lights were a reminder of McQueen's asylum show and the theme❝The Ice Queen and her court❞ had the suitably chilly tone of a vintage McQueen ritual. I love these pieces. I was pleased to see a Finnish model Suvi Koponen on the McQueen catwalk (here in the black fringe dress). Pictures from Style.com

SUFFICIENT FLOW.

This weekend culture flows to Suvilahti. Yep, it's time for the annual FLOW festival - and its sounds have echoed in the streets for the past days. This was my yesterdays flow-uniform. Great festival day and good performers, altho I was so shocked that Lykke Li cancelled her performance and that's why I left early.
White knit Camden Town street market -- shorts Gina Tricot -- wedge boots Acne -- rings, head band and feather necklace Bijou Brigitte.

I DON'T PLAY FAVORITES, EXCEPT FOR THESE.

The weather has been too moody this week. When you go to work in the morning it's pouring rain, when you leave from work the Sun is shining like it'd be mid summer all over again and towards the night you can hear water drops pattering the windows again. It's funny to run around with umbrella AND shades.
I love this pink nail polish from Models Own series, it's so 80's pink that you gotta love it. These Bijou Brigitte rings have been my favorites this summer and I even have got some tan lines around my fingers underneath them - haha! Asymmetrical black'n'white dress Oxford Street Topshop and huge white feather earring from Seppälä.

4TH YEAR.

4 years ago a 21-year-old girl moved to Helsinki. Before that she had just seen the city on tv, visited a couple of times. At first it felt so different, huge and distant. Now - despiting the constant clamor, hundreds of street names that she'll never manage to memorize, time to time overcrowded public transportation and endless concrete jungle - it has become a place she calls home. Helsinki has officially made it's way to my heart with its bumpy paving stone streets.
This is also the 4th year for my baby: my fashion blog the lace and leather! When I started there were not too many fashion blogs even out there, but now they are a well-known global phenomenon that reaches more and more people all over the world.
Therefore I'll be having a little giveaway for you lovely fashion bunnies. Who wants these dark gold earrings to spice up outfits for upcoming fall? Just hit me with a comment on this post telling what's your fashion obsession for the fall and 31.8.2011 you just could be the lucky one!

BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE.
It's August and our forests are filled with wild blueberries. It's been a hot indian summer here in Finland, topped with so called "tropical nights" - that means over 20C degrees at night time - and let me tell you that's not too common in this latitude... Therefore there are more berries than ever: even the local radio encourages people to go to the woods and glean these sweet super healthy berries.
Bought this blueberry-smoothie-pink cute tunic (got one in peach too) from London and these two are definitely not the only items that cought my eye at Oxford Street Topshop and ended up into my suitcase. Today I combined the delicious new favorite with black detailed leggings, white tube top underneath and white studded pumps. The fun feather owl necklace is a gift from my dear friend Liisa.

NEED A MOMENT IN SHADE.

dress Seppälä | long tunic GinaTricot | belt as a bracelet H&M | necklace and rings Bijou Brigitte
Forgive me for keeping you waiting for my tales the whole spring love ones, little something called hard work totally took over my life and kept me from having too much free time on my hands... But now let's talk about something that I bet every single one of you've been waiting for as much as myself! THE SALES.
It is finally that time of the year for shoppaholics - including myself - that we find ourselves spending rediculous amount of our precious time between the shoe shelves and garment racks of our favorite boutiques. What a great excuse to buy clothes and accessories once again! Even if you are not sure when or where you'll need the piece, if it's -70% you have to buy it - juuuust in case...
I spotted this black just-the-right-lenght long-sleeved tunic at GinaTricot -50% off and fell in love with it for its versatility. It's gonna be my best friend when the nights get cooler and you need just something light to cover up those strapless summer tops and dresses.

LONDON.

I LOVE THAT CITY. I hadn’t been there since I was 15, but now it was finally time for my summer vacation abroad and I choose to visit the the largest metropolitan area in the United Kingdom and the largest urban zone in the European Union by most measures! It is also home to designers Vivienne Westwood, Galliano, Stella McCartney, Manolo Blahnik, and Jimmy Choo among others; its renowned art and fashion schools make it an international centre of fashion alongside Paris, Milan and New York. London offers a great variety of cuisine as a result of its ethnically diverse population - no need to be satisfied just for fish&chips or fried chicken. A good friend of mine has lived in London for a year now studying contemporary dance and so I flew there to see her and bring her back to Finland with me for the summer. Had so much fun with her! My favorites were small unique boutiques of Camden Town, Hyde Park, the busy atmosphere of Oxford Street, lights of Piccadilly Circus, chatty locals, delicious sushi for only 2£ and the black old taxis.

CHANEL SPRING 2O11 RTW.
Chanel Spring 2011 RTW fashion once again was filled with black and white - just the way I love it.
Chanel (and Lagerfeld) showbreathtakingly surreal setting: a monochrome ornamental garden, complete with fountains, which mirrored one of the film's most famous scenes.
A full orchestra of 80 musicians sawed through romantic arrangements of Björk, the Verve, and John "007" Barry to soundtrack during the 18-minute show. The jewellery is just simply adorable, isn't it?
